Main function:  Risk Management

Identify potential critical risk effects for the organization and to develop, design and implement controls and cost-effective approaches to minimize the organization risk effects in order to ensure business continuity at all times and limited exposure to critical operational and financial risks.

 

Purpose of the role:  To identify critical risk and develop, design and implement risk mitigation strategies and plans in order to ensure business continuity and limited exposure to critical financial risks.

Role responsibilities

 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Support the company management team to develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits.
  • Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and plans for the organization’s critical risks and for monitoring these risks
    • Plan, design and implement overall risk management processes and systems
    • Oversee and implement risk control actions (e.g. insurance, health and safety measures, business continuity plans etc).
    • Arrange in coordination with the CFO a sound and least-cost financing protection package
    • Develop project risk management capabilities within the organization
  • Establishes, communicates and facilitates the use of appropriate Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Ensures effective alignment between the ERM process and internal audit and risk financing
  • Works with business units and legal entities to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities.
  • Facilitates enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitors priority risk across the organization
    • Carry out risk assessments, maintain group risk register, evaluate risks and advise on risk management
    • Set up appropriate risk reporting internally and externally
      • Provide an independent view regarding proposed business plans and transactions.
      • Develop and implement an IT strategy to support ERM in coordination with the CIO.
      • Conducts risk management educations and training form time to time

  • Adequate risk management plans / measures to limit risks

 

Scope Indicators:

  • Phase / Maturity of risk management function
  • Geographical spread / intercultural differences /number of LE’s.

 

Core competencies

Education, knowledge and working experience:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Finance,  Risk Management and/or Business Administration
  • A sound understanding of ERM principles and philosophy
  • Broad understanding of all key areas of the organization
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial information and principles
